.IT Domain Names

Established in 1987, Italy’s .IT country-code top-level domain extension is quite popular both locally and in the English-speaking world. The reason is that the domain is a pronoun, which can be used for building imaginative and catchy domain names – write.it, youcanmake.it and so on. This is a way to construct an easy-to-memorize domain name, so that it will be easier for your visitors to go back to your website or to give it with coworkers and fellows. The domain name extension can also be used for a website, which is connected to the technology sector considering the fact that IT is an abbreviation, which is well-known all over the globe.

Considering that dot IT domains are not offered directly by IT-NIC, the Registry organization that administrates this top-level domain extension, such a domain can be registered through a 3rd-party provider, such as ours. We will manage the registration process for you and take care of submitting your application to the Registry. You can order a .IT domain for no more than one year at a time, and the domains are transferable, so you can move your existing domain over to our firm and we will renew it the moment the transfer has been completed. The only condition is that the person reserving such a domain must be located in a member state of the EU.

Since there are existing Second-Level Domains that include names of various regions and localities in Italy reserved for local 3rd-level registrations, new names that include geographical regions of any sort are not permitted on any level to avoid any future confusion. We do not support such 3rd-level domains, though, given that they can be registered only by locals.
